Skyline Entertainment releases a chilling trailer for The Amityville Murders, a prequel to the 1979 horror classic The Amityville Horror. In 1974, 23-year-old Ronald “Butch” DeFeo Jr. admitted to murdering his parents and four siblings with a .35 caliber rifle in Amityville, New York. At the subsequent trial, DeFeo claimed self-defense against “voices” that were plotting against him, but was ultimately convicted on six counts of second-degree murder. The case’s inconsistencies sparked conspiracy theories, along with stories about possible paranormal activity in the Long Island home....

Cybersecurity researchers at Pradeo identified the malware, which Google has now removed from its official Android app marketplace. Before its removal, the app, called ‘Color Message’, was downloaded by more than 500,000 Android users. Advertised as an app that allowed users to personalise their default SMS messages, Color Message was a front to deliver Joker, one of the most prolific forms of Android malware. A Distimo survey, relayed by TechCrunch, shows the Android application store rocks more free programs than Apple’s App Store. With Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp set to hit the big screen in just over two weeks, IMAX unveiled special artwork, highlighting just how big and badass The Wasp will be. Government-owned railroad service Amtrak is set to use Apple’s iPhone and a new app as an electronic ticket scanner. The New York Times reported that train conductors have been training to use the tech during select routes since November. The addition allows passengers to load a specific bar code on their smartphone screens that the conductor can scan for tracking purposes.
