Starring The Maze Runner lead actor Dylan O’Brien as CIA black ops recruit Mitch Rapp, the new movie directed by Michael Cuesta is all set to turn the heads of anyone eager to see another action-adventure centering around the highly volatile state of international relations in the Middle East....

One of the advantages to American Horror Story being an anthology series with a new story each year is that the various seasons can take place not only in a variety of locations, but also a variety of time periods. Indeed, each year while waiting for show creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk to reveal the theme of the season, fans speculate on when it will take place as much as where it will take place and what the characters will be facing....

A new report on smartphone damage trends offers some interesting details on how many devices were broken in 2018, how much consumers paid to fix them, and how repair costs have increased significantly in the last few years. Insurance provider SquareTrade put out the new report that says US smartphone owners broke over 50 million displays and paid $3.4 billion in repairs. The company believes those broken screens along with failed batteries, touchscreen issues, and scratched screens tallied up to 66% of smartphone owners damaging their devices this year....

The cast of Angel will be reuniting at New York Comic Con to celebrate the show’s upcoming 20th anniversary, but David Boreanaz will not be among them. He played the titular vampire with a soul on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff, which ran for five seasons. Angel began airing in 1999, but was unceremoniously canceled in 2004. Angel’s journey began on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which he appeared for three seasons before headlining his own series....

In case you’re still wondering if the iPad 2.0 will have a higher-res screen then here’s the latest claims, this time emanating from our old pals at Digitimes (who apparently don’t read Daring Fireball). Apparently “sources” from inside AAPL’s component supply chain are saying the next-gen iPad will host a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536. We don’t know what to believe anymore! Peyton Reed believes Wasp should be lead an all-female Avengers movie. Marvel Studios is finally assembling more super powered females to be prominent figures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow has always been a fan-favorite, but heroes like Gamora and Scarlet Witch have risen as well. There are also newcomers like Valkyrie and Captain Marvel, but it was Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp who received top-billing thanks to Ant-Man and the Wasp....

American Horror Story: Cult, instead of looking completely at history, focused on the present and took a more political bend than other seasons by targeting real-life fears which affected some people after the 2016 US Presidential election. In previous seasons, show-runner Ryan Murphy has relied on more supernatural haunts than real-life drama. For example, season 1 is set in a manor known as the “Murder House," which is crawling with ghosts who became the focus of that season....

If there is one analyst convinced Apple is indeed launching an HDTV this year, it is Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek. First Misek said in November that Sharp was getting its manufacturing lines ready for an “iTV” product (he also said the iPad 3 would have a Retina display with slightly less pixel density than iPhone 4S) that could go into commercial production as early as last month. A new report from Misek (via BusinessInsider) claimed small quantities of TV components are starting to move through Apple’s supply chain....

Several analysts have already suggested that the iPhone 11 is proving popular in markets such as China. Now, it appears that the colorful iPhone 11 is also a hit in India, which has become an increasingly important market for Apple over the last several years. Local reports out of India suggest that lines formed at Apple Authorized Resellers on launch day last week. Ex Machina director Alex Garland’s second sci-fi feature, Annihilation, has just arrived in theaters to rave reviews. Based on the novel of the same name by Jeff VenderMeer, Annihilation stars Natalie Portman as Lena, a scientist who ventures into a mysterious and highly dangerous phenomenon called the Shimmer, on a mission to find out what happened to her husband, Kane (played by Oscar Isaac) when he went on a previous expedition....

It felt like it was a long time in coming, but American Gods finally aired this year. The first season, a short-and-sweet eight episodes, just wrapped up and we are in love. Starring Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Ian McShane, Pablo Schreiber, Gillian Anderson, Crispin Glover, Orlando Jones, and more, the show is based on the 2001 Neil Gaiman novel of the same name. Gaiman is best known for his comic work (especially The Sandman and Death), but has also written several well-received novels, including Good Omens (with Terry Pratchett), Stardust, and American Gods....

We learned yesterday that Nintendo’s Animal Crossing – originally expected to make it onto iOS devices in March – has been delayed until later in the year. If you were hoping for any further games from the company this year, though, you may be disappointed … Nintendo’s president Tatsumi Kimishima has announced that the company’s plan is to release 2-3 mobile games a year. Ant-Man & The Wasp is apparently nearing the end of its production now that a crew wrap party was held. The Marvel Cinematic Universe brought its tiniest hero to the big screen in 2015 with Ant-Man. The movie introduced Paul Rudd’s low-level criminal Scott Lang and delivered another lighthearted Marvel film that including references to Avengers: Age of Ultron and a brief appearance from Anthony Mackie’s Falcon.
