Anime industry veteran Vic Mignogna is currently facing an abundance of sexual harassment allegations after numerous victims of his misconduct have begun to speak out. Mignogna, best known for his vast body of voiceover work in English-dubbed anime, is being accused of a years-long history of unwanted touching, advances, and more by dozens of convention-goers and fellow voice talent. Mignogna is best known for his long list of localized roles, which includes Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, Broly from Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, and Qrow Branwen from Rooster Teeth’s RWBY web series....

Anonymizing photos and videos can be a time-consuming task sometimes including multiple steps, especially if you want to strip metadata. Developers Playground.AI decided to tackle that problem and came up with a valuable new iPhone app called Anonymous Camera that handles all of the processing on device in real-time. Playground.AI is also donating all of its proceeds from the app to Black Visions Collective and Unicorn Riot for the first month....

Update: After less than 24 hours since this post, Apple has removed the DiscoRecorder tethering app from the App Store. The developer forwarded along an automated email that he received. He received no specific explanation from Apple. Since the App Store’s launch, a few developers have tried creative tactics to enable free and unlimited tethering for iPhone users. Most of these tricks either made their way onto the App Store due to an apparently accidental app acceptance by Apple, or by way of a creativity....

Two days before Apple announces its earnings for fiscal Q1 2018 (calendar Q4 2017), analysts are already turning their attention to the company’s guidance for the following quarter. We’ll find out two things on Thursday. First, whether iPhone X sales were high enough to hit the company’s predicted revenue of between $84B and $87B in the final quarter of last year. Second, what Apple expects to earn in Q2 (calendar Q1) …...

From 9to5Google: Google posted an Update from the CEO on its Official Google Blog today where Larry Page announced that Android chief Andy Rubin will officially be leaving the Android team to take up a new role at the company. Taking his place to lead the Android team at Google is Sundar Pichai, who will also continue his work with Apps and Chrome. Full story on 9to5Google.com. No plans to leave Google....

Rovio has released a big update today to its original Angry Birds app, which happens to remain as the #1 app of all time. Today’s update brings a brand new gameplay mode known as “Egg Defender,” which according to iTunes gives “Red special powers to attack the advancing pigs.” Also included in today’s update is 15 new levels with all-new challenges, as well as “73 crazy pig contraptions” straight from Rovio’s hit spin off title ‘Bad Piggies’....

Apple has denied this, stating that while it wanted the agency model for its own store, it was “indifferent” – a word it has used on the stand twice – to the arrangements publishers had with other retailers. The DOJ has now entered into evidence Exhibit 55, an email from Steve Jobs to Eddy Cue which appears to directly contradict this claim … Apple claims the email was never sent, but Keith Moerer, head of Apple’s iBookstore, was forced to agree that the email was not consistent with its claimed indifference....

Ant-Man & The Wasp producer Stephen Broussard says the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel is what he calls a “one bad night” movie. The original Ant-Man was the first MCU film to combine superheroes and the heist genre. Director Peyton Reed revealed early on that the Ant-Man movie sequel falls into an “entirely different genre template”, though he refrained from revealing exactly what that would be. However, Reed did later clarify that Ant-Man & the Wasp is not a romantic comedy about the titular characters, as had been rumored....

Ant-Man & the Wasp is a sequel to 2015’s Ant-Man and is set in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War. The film sees the return of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, who partners with Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp in the battle against a terrifying new threat, the Ghost (played by Hannah John-Kamen). Ant-Man & the Wasp is generally expected to be part of the build-up to next year’s Avengers 4, the climax of Marvel’s Phase 3....

Now that she is officially suiting up in Ant-Man & The Wasp, it turns out that Evangeline Lilly worked even harder than her costar Paul Rudd on stunts. Even though both actors are meant to be working side-by-side in the movie, the titular Ant-Man apparently isn’t putting in as much effort as his superhero counterpart. Following up 2015’s Ant-Man, Ant-Man & The Wasp centers around Scott Lang (played by Rudd) as he deals with the massively consequential events set up in Captain America: Civil War....

American Horror Story: Hotel was full of memorable characters, but Denis O’Hare’s Liz Taylor was top-tier and stood out as the best. The show’s fifth season revolved around the many inhabitants surrounding the fictional Hotel Cortez. Originally owned and operated by the murderous James March (Evan Peters) and his wife, who is known as The Countess (Lady Gaga), the hotel has seen numerous guests come and go throughout the years. Many perish on the property and never actually leave in a similar concept of purgatory that is explored in season one and season nine....

Adam McKay reveals that his plot idea for a potential Anchorman 3 would take famed fictional journalist Ron Burgundy and embed him in a combat zone - as real life U.S. reporters did during the Iraq Wars. Will Ferrell played the cocky newsreader in both 2004’s Anchorman and 2013’s Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Becoming known for its zany comedy, quick one-liners, and impressive supporting cast, the Anchorman movies have gathered quite a following over the year, so why wouldn’t we want another entry?...

This is a huge growth for Android, as just a year ago, the amount of Android apps, was no where near iOS. Now that the 6-figure mark was crossed by Google’s Android, Apple has some serious competition crawling up their sleeves. Google announced a few weeks ago, that they are activating an average of 160,000 Android phones each day. That’s a new phone every two seconds. Compare that to Apple selling an iPad every three seconds....

The cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp continues to grow, with Sean Kleier joining the film. The sequel to 2015’s debut outing for the shrinking superhero is going to be the MCU’s first film after Avengers: Infinity War, so will naturally be of a fittingly smaller scale. Although that doesn’t mean it’s not being more ambitious than the original. Indeed, the film has already vastly expanded its cast. As well as Michael Douglas, Michael Peña and Judy Greer returning to back up Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly’s titular heroes, there are high profile additions including Michelle Pfeiffer as the original Wasp, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Laurence Fishburne as Goliath and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo....

The new American Dad! Apocalypse Now mobile game launched today, bringing with it a multi-layered RPG system and stand-alone story designed in collaboration with writers from the show to both iOS and Android mobile devices. American Dad! is the Emmy-nominated comedy series from 20th Century Fox Television that, despite having a solid following and a premise that is well-suited to game spin-offs, has never really broken into the scene in the way that many critics expected it would at the height of its popularity....

According to a recent trademark filing, American Horror Story season 8 might be set to explore some type of post-apocalypse scenario. Ever since the strategy of holding back details on a season until late in the game worked so well for drumming up interest in American Horror Story season 6, the hit FX anthology series has remained slow to reveal information about further seasons. Season 7’s Cult title and theme weren’t revealed until a mere two months before it premiered, and currently, almost nothing is known about this fall’s season 8....

Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives thinks the MGM deal was a “huge” missed opportunity for Apple and also not picking up a Hollywood studio at all is a “major strategic mistake.” Ives also reiterated his comment about Apple TV+ being a “mansion with hardly any furniture.” In the past, Ives has called Apple not buying Netflix years ago its “biggest strategic mistake.” While Apple has had some hits like Ted Lasso, some estimates put its streaming service as having just a 3% market share in the US....
