BGR is out with a report today that mostly echoes previous claims that Apple is working on diabetes treatment technology for an upcoming future version of the Apple Watch. Today’s report is quite light on any actual details about how the technology would work, but it also claims Apple has interchangeable “smart watch bands” of sorts that it speculates could be used to facilitate the diabetes treatment. Last month CNBC reported much of what BGR is saying today, claiming that Apple is developing a breakthrough solution for treating diabetes with Apple Watch and has a team dedicated to the project....

American Horror Story: 1984 had multiple references to classic slasher movies that inspired the new season. Series creator Ryan Murphy didn’t back down when it came to paying tribute to the major influences in the horror genre, and most of those films were present - in some way, shape, or form - in the American Horror Story: 1984 season premiere. The official title and theme for American Horror Story season 9 were revealed through a teaser back in April....

Apple is due to report its fiscal Q3 (calendar Q2) earnings on Tuesday, having issued revenue guidance of $43.5-45.5B. Anything in this range would represent a year-on-year improvement over Q3 2016’s number of $42.36B, but most analysts are expecting the company to get close to the high end … Philip Elmer-DeWitt has done his usual analyst roundup, and the consensus expectation is for revenue of $45.13B. MarketWatch notes very little change in analyst recommendations for the stock....

Ant-Man & the Wasp introduced viewers to Bill Foster, better known to comic book readers as Goliath. Unfortunately, the film absolutely wasted Foster’s potential with his Giant-Man alter-ego kept in stories of the past. This should be corrected in Ant-Man 3. Bill Foster was originally created by Stan Lee and Don Heck in 1966, introduced as an employee of Stark Industries who was assigned to work as Hank Pym’s lab assistant; he soon proved to be a genius, even saving Pym’s life when he became stuck in Giant-Man size....

Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed won’t rule out the possibility of time travel in Anthony and Joe Russo’s Avengers 4. Last year, a batch of photos from the set of Avengers 4 seemed to indicate that the film would be returning to the Battle of New York from Joss Whedon’s first Avengers movie. It was unclear exactly what was happening in the photos as well as what will draw the superhero team back to the momentous battle, but it was certainly clear that time travel was somehow involved....

Sharon Osbourne left America’s Got Talent because of the network, not the show. The outspoken host decided to defend the side of the popular show as she looked back at her time with them. The outspoken TV personality worked on the show from seasons 2 to 7, but left in July of 2012. Fans were told she left due to her son Jack Osbourne, but did not elaborate until she spoke with the New York Post, saying that her son was meant to work on a new reality show called Stars Earn Stripes, but was dropped from the show after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis....

Andy Serkis has shared some of the first details about Mowgli, including the MPAA rating as well as some details about his interpretation of his role as Baloo. Mowgli is the non-Disney adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, which takes a much more direct approach to the iconic novel. Unlike the recent Jon Favreau reboot, this approach will take away the Disney frills and sing-a-longs, while adding a darker tone to the story....
