In a game like Anthem, customization is probably one of the most important features to a lot of players. So one of the first things most players are going to want to do is a deep-dive into the setting and change up the setting to match your play-style exactly. Are you looking to invert the controls on your Javelin?

Maybe you’re looking to change up the display settings so that you don’t have to deal with the damage numbers; maybe you just want to adjust the size a little bit? However you’re trying to switch up the game, Anthem, and the folks over at Bioware are hoping to give each player an experience specifically tailored to their tastes.

GET FAMILIAR WITH FORT TARSIS

While the multiplayer aspects of the game may be the biggest draw for a lot of fans, Anthem is designed to be played however to player wishes. That means that players will need to get familiar with Fort Tarsis, the single player hub for the world of Anthem. Fort Tarsis is where you will find all the shops, missions, and NPCs designed to help you through the world of Anthem.

So if you’re looking to take on a new quest of maybe you’re just trying to find someone that can upgrade your Javelin, players will need to acquaint themselves with all the Fort Tarsis has to offer.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR JAVELIN

Like we mentioned earlier, Anthem is all about the incredible level of customization under the control of the player. One of the most important aspects of the game, the Javelin, is likely something players will spend a decent amount of time tinkering with in hopes of creating the perfect build.

There are four main chooses of Javelin that will be available at launch, but beyond that, there will be plenty of aesthetic and functional upgrades to bring your unique Javelin up to your specifications. So don’t worry about switching out your gear or experimenting with your play style because there will always be another upgrade on the horizon.

CHECK YOUR CRAFTING OPTIONS AFTER EVERY MISSION

An important part of every game that involves chasing after loot is making sure you know what’s in your inventory. In Anthem, there are plenty of new and exciting places to explore, creatures and villains to fight, and resources to collect. Part of getting the greatest gear available is making sure that you have the resources you need to fuel that next upgrade.

So no matter how far you get in the game, and no matter how many missions you accept, make sure you’re always aware of what resources you have and which ones you’ll need before you go dive back into the enormous open world.

EXPERIMENT WITH DIFFERENT JAVELINS

While there will definitely be plenty of options to upgrade and customize whichever Javelin you are most drawn to, it certainly won’t hurt to get as familiar with the four Javelins that will be available at launch, as soon as possible. While most players are likely to find one Javelin type that they like and stick with that for most of their time in Anthem, it really doesn’t seem to be in the spirit of a game this specifically designed to have an almost endless number of options.

So don’t be afraid to dump that Ranger armor and give the Inceptor or the Storm armor a test-drive to see what they’re capable of.

SET THE DIFFICULTY TO HARD (AS SOON AS YOU CAN)

Like we’ve mentioned before, Anthem all about the loot. Loot is one of the main aspects driving the gameplay of Anthem, and while the game was designed for gamers of all levels, clearly the best loot available will be dropped by the strongest enemies.

So if you’re hoping to get some of that legendary gear or just trying to one-up your friends, you’re going to need to be ready to take on the toughest challenges that Anthem has and that means that you’ll eventually find it necessary to turn up that difficulty level and really get the game going. But don’t worry, you’ll have your squadmates to back you up.

TEAM UP

Part of the fun of the whole “shared world” genre is that you are actually sharing the world around you with potentially millions of other players.

So naturally, for a game like Anthem, finding a team you can rely on to have your back is paramount. Bioware has made it incredibly simple for friends to pop in and out of each other games because they know the worlds of Anthem are better explored as a group, but make sure that you and your squadmates have a decent plan of attack because you’re going to need it.

UTILIZE YOUR SQUAD MATES

While some players might assume that your Javelin is the most important tool when it comes to survival in Anthem, those players would be dead wrong. The most important tool for survival in Bioware’s Anthem is teamwork. The world of Anthem is a cruel and unforgiving one, but that doesn’t mean that you and your fellow freelancers can’t make it through to the other side if you keep your wits about you.

If you’re a player that can utilize the strengths and weaknesses of both your Javelin and your squadmates, then there’s a good chance you’ll survive the tough world of Anthem.

OR, GO FOR A SOLO RUN

Anthem is built to be a fully immersive, dynamic, and open world that players can explore with a group of friends, but should you decide that you’d prefer to go it alone, that’s perfectly fine as well.

While the game is designed to keeping to and your friends challenged and entertained for hours, should you decide to go it alone the one that you need to remember is this: Keep Moving. Movement is key when you’re going it alone in the world of Anthem. There are some enemies that will be able to stun you with their attacks, so always remember to keep moving in any direction you can.

EXPLORE

This point bounced off of that last entry rather nicely; keep moving in any direction you can! Not just in combat, but make sure you take the time to explore the vast open world that folks over at Bioware have taken the time to design for you, the player. Not only will you find yourself getting lost in the absolutely stunning world of the game, but if you’re lucky, you’ll stumble upon some of the many easter eggs and secrets that are hidden all throughout the game.

In a world as dynamic and expansive as the Anthem, you’re going to want to make sure you’ve explored everywhere you can and looted everyone and everything that you can.
