Marvel Studios has released an incredible range of promotional art for their next blockbuster, Ant-Man & The Wasp. With Avengers: Infinity War currently taking the box office by storm, Marvel’s marketing machine is moving on to their next film.

Set before the events of Infinity War, Ant-Man & The Wasp sees fugitives Hank Pym and his daughter Hope seek out the help of Scott Lang’s Ant-Man once again. They’re on a quest to rescue Pym’s long-lost wife, the original Wasp, from the mysterious dimension known as the Quantum Realm. Unfortunately, Pym’s experiments with the Quantum Realm seem to have created a new threat, the villainous Ghost.

Over the weekend, Marvel Studios released a wealth of promo art for the film. CBM has collected the full range, but here are the highlights:

The promo art is absolutely stunning, and clearly continues the same humorous vibe seen in the trailers. A range of Giant-Man pieces show the giant-sized Scott Lang attempting to hide, peering around or over buildings. Given Scott was placed under house arrest after the events of Captain America: Civil War, presumably with the Ant-Man technology confiscated, he probably isn’t supposed to be out and about using his powers. One of the trailers suggested he’ll get around the issue by attaching the police monitoring device to the leg of Cassie’s pet giant ant.

The art for Ghost is particularly interesting. Little is known about the MCU’s version of Ghost; she appears to have been exposed to the energies of the Quantum Realm, and they’ve left her out of phase with reality, able to alter her density at will. The concept teases a cool blurring effect to represent her phase-powers, and it will be fascinating to see that realized on the big-screen. The typical Marvel villain is something of a twisted “mirror image” of the hero, but this time around we’re seeing a clash between characters with very different powersets.

Meanwhile, notice that some of the art appears to show both Ant-Man and the Wasp in the Quantum Realm itself. This mysterious dimension was introduced in the first Ant-Man film, and was briefly seen in Doctor Strange. Next year’s Captain Marvel is also set to visit the Quantum Realm, leading many to believe it’s a thematic link that will be important in Avengers 4. A popular theory is that the Quantum Realm can actually be used to travel through time, and could potentially allow the Avengers to rewrite the shocking cliffhanger ending of Avengers: Infinity War.
