Here is a good news for Project-Fi users. Android Message Smart Reply Feature is now available. It provides contextual replies by scrutinizing the messages in a particular thread. To generate intelligent responses Google will require access to your SMS history. You can turn it off easily. Just go into Settings in Android Messages, under Smart Reply.  Users can now literally text with a tap. Project-Fi official twitter handle declared about the update rolling for its users.

Project Fi is a tele carrier network operator by Google. It aims to provide phone, messaging and data services.  The tele-carrier makes use of both Wi-Fi and cellular networks. Currently, it has tie-ups with Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Three. It was launched on April 22, 2015. It was for the Nexus 6  devices through invitations only. The invitation system was dropped in March 2016. It also supports additional devices such as the Pixel series smartphones since October 2016.

Project Fi automatically switches between networks depending on signal strength and speed. It automatically connects to Wi-Fi hotspots. It encrypts data through an automatic VPN. Phone calls seamlessly move between Wi-Fi and phone networks. Project Fi covers more than 135 countries around the world.

Its plans follow prepaid approach. A subscription costs $20 per month for unlimited calls and messaging plus a custom data allowance costing an additional $10 per gigabyte. Money for any unused data is credited back to the user’s account. Similarly,  while overuse of data costs an additional $10 per gigabyte in proportion to actual usage.

Android Message Smart Reply Feature

The smart reply is not something very new. We can date back its origin with Google Allo to 2015. It automatically suggests responses to messages you get. The context-aware reply is pretty much available for other GSuite applications as well.  Now Android Message Smart Reply Feature is exclusively rolling for Project-Fi users. The feature currently works with Google Allo, Gmail, Google Assistant, and Android Messages. We hope Google Gboard too gets the smart reply attribute on it soon.
