Her biggest role to date was as Candy Ferocity on Pose - FX’s critically acclaimed drama about New York City’s ballroom culture scene in the 1980s and its largely black and Latinx LGBTQ community. FX recently ordered Pose season 3 but sadly Ross won’t be making a return after her character made a heartbreaking exit from the show in its most recently aired episode.

But Ross won’t be out of a job for too long after she announced on Twitter that she’d nabbed a part in fellow FX show American Horror Story season 9. In her tweet, Ross thanked Pose and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy and stated she was “honored and excited” to have been cast in season 9. Ross didn’t reveal any details about who’ll she will play but in a recent Instagram post by Murphy praising Ross for her role in Pose, he mentioned that her character in American Horror Story: 1984 would be “another unforgettable role.” Check out Ross’s tweet and Murphy’s Instagram post below.

Not much is known about American Horror Story season 9 so far, although Murphy has confirmed that it will have a fall premiere and will pay homage to the slasher subgenre of horror that reached a peak in the early 1980s with films like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

As for who else is in the cast of American Horror Story: 1984, Ross will be joined by fellow newcomer Gus Kenworthy and series regular Emma Robert who is set to return for season 9. Evan Peters, however - who has been in every season since the show first aired in 2011 - will not be appearing in season 9. It was also recently confirmed that Sarah Paulson would not star in season 9 - although that doesn’t necessarily rule out that she might appear in a minor role or cameo appearance. Stay tuned for more updates about American Horror Story: 1984 as they arrive.
